About the Artist

CloseUpMe

Lisa Agaran was born in Los Angeles. With a background in psychology she worked as a therapist and creativity coach prior to her career as a mixed media artist. Her work has been shown in various group and solo shows throughout Los Angeles and New Mexico. After graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Lisa originally began her artistic career as a graphic designer. She worked in the corporate arena for 18 years with companies such as Disney, Nestle, Nissan and Toyota. Having the itch to revisit one of her original passions, she returned to school to get her Masters in Psychology. Lisa has always had an intense interest in understanding not only herself as a creative person, but the creative process as well. Integrating both her artistic and psychology background she spent the last several years working with artists and creative professionals as a therapist and creativity coach. Expressing herself creatively has always been an essential part of her life. Her other creative channels include writing and photography. Currently, Lisa is a mixed media artist creating original pieces with a blend of different acrylic mediums, her own photography, collage and found objects.
